Saturday, January 5th we are pleased to announce an evening of music from some fantastic singer/songwriters from both Ojai and LA: Ted Lennon, Jamie Drake, Daniel Wright, & Scott Hirsch.
Ted Lennon’s voice comes through soft like water and saturates the listener with soulfulness and depth. What distinguishes Ted isn’t the flashiness of modern day pop, and it isn’t a lyrical cynicism that commiserates with these difficult times. Ted’s music wells up from some ancient source, an ever-flowing spring that makes us feel on some cellular level that we are known and we are loved.
After a decade behind-the-scenes in Los Angeles, co-writing and collaborating with the likes of Jim James, Peter Yarrow and Moby (in addition to lending her vocal talents to various industry projects, including the theme song to the CW's Life Sentence), Jamie Drake has all the while been carefully honing her craft and preparing to take center stage.
As lead singer to Ojai's favorite band Radio Skies, Daniel Wright is also a beautiful solo performer, producing folk roots americana music for all to enjoy. His lofty voice and steady guitar work bring an etherial feeling to an otherwise grounded acoustic set.
Scott Hirsch’s name is one you’ll find lurking in the liner notes of many admired recordings from the late 1990s to the present. As a founding member of Hiss Golden Messenger, he was integral to the band’s first five records, lending his sonic imprint on their productions, as well as shaping the sound of the live outfit, having toured heavily through the formative years of the band. Now branching out as a solo artist, Scott brings a cool breeze of home to his performance, enchanting audiences everywhere.
The show begins at 7:30, and tickets are $15-$20 at the door.
