Join us for a very unique evening of music on Saturday, August 11th with EllaHarp. Ella Jenkins began playing the harp at age 8, alongside her sister, and her mother drove them both once a week 100 miles to receive the best lessons possible. Her love for traditional music took her to Glasgow Scotland on an unconditional acceptance to the RSAMD (now RCS) in Scottish harp and Gaelic song.
Ella built a very small house on a trailer during 2011-12 and moved herself up to the Bay Area for what she find to be the happy medium between Scotland’s soggy unpredictably and LA’s burning fire of death. Now she writes music, swims in the ocean, and make all of her clothes and jewelry.
Interesting fact: my grandfather, Gordon Jenkins, wrote the song  ‘Crescent City Blues’ which Johnny Cash shamelessly ripped off for his well known song ‘Folsom Prison Blues’. EllaHarp brings blues, folk, and more to the harp, and will astonish you with a musical blend you've never heard before. Join us at 7:30, and with a $20 suggested donation at the door.
